Work rules
Work rules are your organization's working-time norms. The system checks the schedule against them and warns about violations. Nothing gets blocked — every check only warns; the decision is always yours.
Which rules are checked
- Max hours per day — the total hours of an employee's shifts within a single day.
- Max hours per week — the total for a calendar week (Monday–Sunday).
- Min rest between shifts — hours from the end of one shift to the start of the next. Overnight shifts crossing midnight are counted correctly.
- Max days in a row — working days without a day off. The check honestly accounts for the boundary with the previous month.
Each rule can be enabled or disabled individually with its own value — in Settings → Organization → Work rules.
Standard values
The "Fill in standard values" button sets typical values in one click: 40 hours per week, 12 hours per day, 12 hours of rest between shifts, 6 days in a row. You can adjust the values afterwards.
Where warnings appear
- In the schedule — a red dot in the cell with a violation (hover to see the reason) and a "Violations: N" counter above the schedule with a list: who, which day, which rule, actual vs limit.
- In the shift editor — a yellow hint "This shift will violate: …" before you even save.
- Before publishing — a list of violations in the publish dialog. You can still publish — just knowingly.
Rules and the schedule generator
The schedule generator plugs your norms (hours per week and days in a row) in as constraints — the proposed schedule is born with them already applied. Values can be relaxed for a single run right in the generate dialog.
