Coverage alerts

Smengo calculates in real time how many employees are working each day and compares that number to the minimum threshold you set for each department.

The "On shift" row

The On shift row is always visible at the bottom of the schedule. For each day it shows a count - how many employees have a status with "Counts as present" turned on.

Next to the counter you can switch the scope: view all departments together or a single department.

Coverage thresholds

Open Coverage thresholds at the top of the schedule. For each department, enter the minimum number of people who should be present - that is your threshold. Set it to 0 to disable the threshold for a department.

Thresholds are stored in your organization settings and apply to all months.

Problem days

When the actual headcount for a department falls below the threshold, the day is flagged as a problem:

  • The day number in the schedule header is highlighted in red.
  • The counter in the On shift row shows the shortfall: for example, −2 means two people are missing.
  • The day's column gets a faint red background in edit mode.

This lets you spot coverage conflicts across the whole month at a glance.
