Demand
The Demand page is where you record your business's daily workload: how much money it makes (Revenue) or how many customers, orders or requests it handles (Traffic) — both what already happened (Actual) and what you expect (Plan). These numbers later help the system build better schedules.
Who sees this
Only users who manage the schedule (the "Shifts" permission) can see this page. Revenue is sensitive data, so regular employees and some managers don't have access to it.
Entering data manually
- Open Demand in the sidebar.
- At the top, pick a month (‹ › arrows, same as the schedule), a department (Whole organization or a specific department), and a metric — Revenue or Traffic.
- In the table, each row is a day of the month with two columns, Plan and Actual. Type a number and click elsewhere — it saves automatically.
- To remove a value, clear the cell and click away.
Both columns are editable on any day. As a visual hint, past days highlight the "Actual" column (what already happened) and future days highlight "Plan" (what you expect) — but you can enter numbers in either column regardless.
Plan vs. Actual
- Plan — how much you expect to earn or handle. Useful to fill in ahead of time for days when you expect a higher or lower workload than usual. Any unit works — just count it the same way every day.
- Actual — what really happened. Filled in after the fact, and over time this history becomes the basis for forecasting.
Importing from CSV
If you already have a spreadsheet with revenue or traffic history, importing it is faster than typing it in.
- Click Import CSV.
- Prepare your file: one row per record, format
date, value. Dates can beYYYY-MM-DDorDD.MM.YYYY, separated by a comma or semicolon. You can optionally addmetricandkindcolumns to set the metric and plan/actual per row — otherwise the metric and mode selected on the page are used. - Choose the file — the system shows a preview: how many rows are ready to import, plus a list of errors with line numbers for anything it couldn't parse.
- Click Import — the button is enabled once there's at least one valid row. Rows with errors are skipped; the rest are imported.
Duplicate records (same day, metric, and plan/actual) are collapsed — only the latest value is kept.
Automatically from a Poster till
If your venue runs on a Poster till, you don't need to type in numbers at all. Connect the till in Settings → Integrations and it sends revenue and receipt counts for closed days straight to the Demand page every night. The rule is simple: the till is the source of truth — the sync overwrites manually entered Actual values with Poster's numbers. Plan values are never touched. More details: Connect Poster POS.
Why this matters
The history of actuals plus the plan you enter ahead of time feeds the upcoming AI demand forecast and the automatic schedule generator — helping the system suggest how many people to schedule on a given day based on your business's real demand.
