Connect Poster POS

If you use a Poster till, you don't need to type revenue and receipt counts into the Demand page by hand — the till sends them itself. Connect a token once, and the data keeps updating every night after that.

What this does

Poster reports two numbers for every day: revenue and the number of receipts (visits or orders). Smengo records them on the Demand page as Actual — and that history feeds the AI forecast and the schedule generator.

How to connect

  1. In the Poster admin: "Access" → "Integrations" → "Personal integration" → copy the access token.
  2. In Smengo, open Settings → Integrations (visible to anyone with the "Organization settings" permission).
  3. Paste the token into the field and click "Check".
  4. Choose a location from the list.
  5. Click "Connect".

About two months of sales history loads right away, so the forecast and schedule generator get real data immediately.

How it keeps working

Every night, Smengo pulls the latest days from Poster on its own — there's nothing to press. The rule is simple: the till is the source of truth. If a number from the till differs from something entered manually, the sync overwrites Actual with Poster's number. Plan values (what you expected) are never touched by the sync — those stay yours.

More than one location

One Smengo organization connects to exactly one Poster location. If you run several venues in Poster and want separate analytics for each in Smengo, set up a separate Smengo organization per location.

Disconnecting

The "Disconnect" button stops the sync — numbers already loaded stay on the Demand page; nothing is deleted.

A Poster token is valid for roughly two years. When it expires or is revoked inside Poster itself, the sync starts failing and Settings → Integrations shows an "error" status. If that happens, reissue the token in Poster and connect it again.

Security

Smengo only reads sales data — it never changes anything in the till itself. The Settings → Integrations page and the token are visible only to the organization owner and anyone with the "Organization settings" permission — other employees and managers can't see them.
