Team motivation
Motivation is two simple tools built on data Smengo already collects: streaks (how many days in a row someone shows up on time) and thank-you notes (a quick thanks to a colleague). There is nothing extra to fill in.
How to enable it
Everything is off by default. An owner or admin turns it on:
- Open Settings → Organization → the "Motivation" tab.
- Turn on the master switch.
- Optionally keep or disable the individual parts: streaks, thank-you notes, the monthly summary.
Turning it off deletes nothing: buttons and widgets simply hide, and the collected data stays.
Attendance streaks
A streak is the number of consecutive days an employee arrived on time (checked in via the Telegram bot). The rules are simple:
- Arriving on time grows the streak. "On time" respects the grace period from the auto-lateness settings.
- Vacations, sick leave and days off do not break a streak — they are simply skipped.
- A missed shift or a late arrival restarts the streak.
- The last 180 days count.
An employee sees their own streak in the bot — the "🔥 My streak" button. A manager sees the team's streaks in the "Motivation" widget on the dashboard. There is no public leaderboard: a streak is a personal metric.
Thank-you notes
You can thank a colleague:
- in the bot — the "👏 Say thanks" button: pick a colleague from your department and write a couple of words (or send without text);
- in the app — on the employee card, the "Motivation" block.
The recipient gets a Telegram message. A note is visible to the recipient and their manager — there is no public feed. You can send at most 5 thanks in the last 24 hours, and only one to the same colleague.
A thank-you note cannot be edited or deleted — just like a spoken "thank you".
Recognition in the briefing and the monthly summary
If you are subscribed to the morning briefing, it gains a "Recognition" block — who has been thanked since the start of the month. On the 1st, the previous month's recap arrives (if the monthly summary is enabled). Nothing is sent to employees — the summary goes to managers only.
If you don't see the buttons in the bot
Telegram caches the old keyboard. Send /start to the bot — the keyboard refreshes and the buttons appear.
